Anticipation

I let a rumor begin to circulate about the house. The microwave was in terrible shape. I don’t think there are words to describe just how much a mess it had deteriorated into and I knew I did not want to clean it.

The rumor began circulating quickly – the first person I caught using any of the  words jerk, stupid etc would be the one given this chore. And I was highly motivated I added to the rumor to catch someone – anyone using a forbidden word.

Before the hour was out – the microwave was spotless and I had not caught a single soul using a “bad” word. Apparently someone was anticipating the likelihood of losing their temper and cleaned the microwave – stating “I’d rather do it just because I wanted to and not because I had to do it.”

Works for me! (BTW – the fridge’s interior is looking kinda bad….)
