I’m wishing…

… that it was possible to simply text one’s doctor’s office. Wouldn’t that be so much easier than dialing (okay hitting the speed dial) and then navigating through the “recently changed menu” then sitting on hold listening to musac while waiting to speak to the receptionist and/or advice nurse!?

  1. No, I don’t think that would be better. I think we spend enough time not-talking to each other.

    • On the whole I agree with you – we are talking more and more to machines so… and this is not a good thing. I hate talking to machines. But when you think about it, in this particular instance since we typically end up leaving a voice mail for the advice nurse who in turn leaves us a voice mail… I’m simply eliminating talking to a machine with a text! 🙂

  2. I’m very strongly anti-cell phones and anti-texting, so you’ll have a hard time convincing me. 🙂 I used to love the conversations I’d get to have with random strangers when we were out and about. That doesn’t happen anymore. Every one is always on their cells or texting someone else. No one is “present” anymore. It’s a crying shame.

  3. It is hard to really “be” these days, just wanted to share that I know a certain someone who is present. Thanks for noticing!
